A bunker audit will look at:-
An audit will take in the region of 2 to 3 days to complete and will include:-
- bunker placement - does the bunker still provide the strategic challenge intended as when first constructed?
- construction style - are there deficiencies in the way the bunker is built? Does the bunker experience wash-outs or collect water? Would the bunker benefit from the use of a bunker liner or an alternative sand choice?
- aesthetic appeal - does the bunker add or detract from the overall presentation of the course?
- requirement for new bunkers - would a hole benefit from the addition of a bunker?
An audit will take in the region of 2 to 3 days to complete and will include:-
- An initial survey prior to visit using aerial photography to determine current bunker surface area.
- Existing bunker placement in relation to playing strategy / fairway mow-lines / topography / surface drainage.
- Existing bunker relevance to current playing requirements taking into account advancements in modern club and ball technology.
Additional survey work on a bunker by bunker basis will determine:-
- Any existing drainage / wash-out issues and potential drainage improvements.
- Any shaping modifications to improve bunker visibility, playability and aesthetics.
Report
Following the survey and analysis of the courses bunkers a hole-by-hole report is generated outlining:-
The report will utilise CAD representations using aerial photography illustrating current and proposed bunker placement alongside photo representations illustrating significant alterations and their affect on the holes aesthetics.
- Existing vs proposed bunker placement and impact on hole strategy.
- Existing vs proposed bunker construction style and impact on maintenance.
