Many architects have a 'style' that they tend to promote - the most recent being a lean towards the 'minimalistic' school of design.
The strapline we use goes a long way to explain our philosophy toward golf course design.
At Evolve-GCD we recognise that a 'one-size fits all' approach can result in work being completed that is out of touch with the original design intent. That is not to say however that a golf course should remain as is ad infinitum - hence our company name - Evolve.
A golf course is a living and breathing entity which changes over time - trees grow, mow lines change and bunkers often lose their shape. Similarly, the game of golf itself has changed over time. From the introduction of both steel and graphite shafts, the adoption of the larger ball, through to the use of modern materials and computer aided club design that, whilst making the game more accessible to people have effectively shortened a great many courses, rendering the original design redundant and reducing the courses strategic challenge and ultimately players enjoyment.
After all - the game of golf is meant to be both challenging and rewarding but most importantly, fun.
Evolve-GCD have three approaches to undertaking work on a golf course - and in a majority of cases a project will utilise two or all three of these approaches in ensuring it achieves the clients goal.
